Media Release - Relief Appeal - Final Report
When in July, international media broadcast the news that Vietnam was suffering from an acute COVID 19 wave, Vietnamese Victorians and businesses responded to the appeal by our organisation, the Australian Vietnamese Women’s Association (‘AVWA’) to raise funds to help victims in Vietnam.When in July, international media broadcast the news that Vietnam was suffering from an acute COVID 19 wave, Vietnamese Victorians and businesses responded to the appeal by our organisation, the Australian Vietnamese Women’s Association (‘AVWA’) to raise funds to help victims in Vietnam.In the spirit of “whole leaves shielding tattered leaves”, AVWA members and staff not only donated time and effort to organise the “COVID-19 Relief Appeal for Vietnam”, but our organisation also matched donations dollar for dollar up to the amount of $40,000. Including this $40,000 sum, the total funds raised were $93,363.00, all of which was sent to Vietnam.
