Role purpose

We are seeking a dedicated and qualified ADS Quality and Compliance Officer to join our team. You will be responsible for ensuring that AVWA's Aged and Disability Services (ADS) Program excels in both internal and external quality and compliance standards.

This position will play a crucial role in internal auditing and risk support, promoting Work Health and Safety (WHS), and upholding quality standards and regulatory requirements for the Aged Care and NDIS sectors. Collaboration across AVWA teams and programs and with third-party providers is essential to exceed compliance expectations and provide ethical, high-quality, and safe services.

What you will do

  • Stay informed about legislative requirements for the Home Care Packages Program (HCPP), Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP), Social Support Groups (orPAGs), and National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
  • Communicate industry developments and regulatory changes to senior management and relevant teams.
  • Ensure our programs meet the Aged Care Quality Standards, NDIS Practice Standards, and other relevant legislation and principles.
  • Manage Quality and Compliance databases and systems for accuracy and ease of access.
  • Review, contribute to, and regularly update policies, processes, and associated documents.
  • Maintain up-to-date documents, forms, templates, and records in line with compliance
  • guidelines and best practices.
  • Maintain registers to track the ADS Program's compliance obligations and identify trends.
  • Support the management of third-party providers, including contracts, annual reviews, and adherence to Aged Care and NDIS guidelines and best practices.
  • Assist in addressing non-compliance among staff, clients, and stakeholders by providing education and training.
  • Create and monitor learning plans for the ADS staff, including annual mandatory training.
  • Conduct internal audits as outlined in the annual audit plan, generating reports and
  • Continuous Improvement Plans (CIPs).
  • Participate in program audits to ensure ongoing registration compliance.
  • Proactively contribute to a psychologically safe and supportive work environment

Who you are:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or certifications in internal auditing, governance, risk and compliance, business, or related fields.
  • Proven experience in quality improvement, clinical performance, compliance, and risk assessment.
  • Thorough knowledge of Aged Care Quality Standards, NDIS Practice Standards, and other relevant regulations.
  • Experience working with disability participants, older people, and Culturally and
  • Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities.
  • Strong policy development and implementation skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Fluency in Vietnamese and English.
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills with a high level of tact and confidentiality.
  • Ability to be responsive, flexible, and agile in handling changing demands.
  • Proficiency in English and Vietnamese language skills
